New documents on the Ancestry.co.uk website reveal the French roots of many well-known UK celebrities such as Davina McCall and Emma Watson.
Ancestry.co.uk has launched a collection of documents covering over 200 years of Parisian history in the Paris, France & Vicinity Vitals, 1700-1907.
The new collection features 16.3 million records of births, marriages and deaths from the dawn of the 18th Century.
Ancestry said that though 45 per cent of Brits consider Parisians to be arrogant, aloof and unhelpful, French ancestry is common in the UK, with one in 20 of us having roots on the other side of the English channel.
Harry Potter star and Burberry model Emma Watson is just one of the UK celebs revealed to have French roots by documents in the new collection.
Documents relating to the families of Davina McCall, Mighty Boosh star Noel Fielding and documentary-maker Louis Theroux are also in the collection.
"Paris is an enchanting city with a rich history that Brits have been drawn to for centuries, so for many it will be a thrill to discover that they may have close ancestral ties to France," Ancestry.co.uk's international content director Dan Jones said.
"Making these Parisian records available will help many British people out there with French heritage trace their continental roots," Jones continued.
Ancestry.co.uk costs £10.95 per month to access or £83.40 for a year's membership. [Source]

Just a quick post to let you guys know that the gallery is back online! There are some albums missing, specifically the most recent ones, but I'll be working to get them back online as soon as I can. :)
I'm really sorry about the downtime we had earlier today! It seems as though the people who own the server we're hosted on decided to close down without notice, so all of The Prelude Network (including EWnet) went down.
I'm working on getting everything back to where it was, but there was some substantial data loss. The news especially is going to need some serious updating, and the gallery is still not restored. Thanks to everyone for the support, and thanks in advance for your patience as I get everything back under control!
Emma has recently done an exclusive interview with Coco Eco Magazine, in which she talks about her People Tree line. The article also includes some new photos. The whole magazine can be viewed online here and the entire article can be viewed in HQ in our gallery below!
Recently French magazine One interviewed Emma about her experience filming The Deathly Hallows. Below are some translations of what she had to say.
"To kiss Rupert in front of cameras will stay the strangest experience for me, since I've played in Harry Potter. Him and I was frightened about this scene, and would like to do it quickly. But the hardest is coming ... I have to kiss Dan ! It's a scene where Ron imagine a kiss between Harry and Hermione.
"We haven't filmed the epilogue yet, in which we can see the future of Harry, Ron and Hermione 19 years later. At the beginning, producers would like to replace us, but they finally kept us. We will look like 40 years old persons. I'm very impatient to see that !" [Source]
